Hillcrest boys soccer team is hoping for another shot at state this year. The boys have won five games and have tied once against Rigby.
Senior Captain Tanner Chapple says, “ I am very excited to be captain this year and cannot wait to take my team to state. The team has been doing amazing and I hope we just keep improving.”
Senior Porter Burke says, “I’m sad this is my last year playing, and I hope we have the opportunity to go to state again.”
The Knights went to Boise on Aug. 17 and 28 and beat Rocky Mountain 2-1. Rocky Mountain was the second best team in the state last year. Burke says, “We were all so excited to beat the second best team in the state.”
They also played Centennial, and were ahead the first half. During the second half, Centennial came through, and won the game 4-2.
The Knights played Bonneville Sept. 13th in the Civil Cup. The score was close at halftime, with the Knights winning by one goal, scored by Senior Cameron Rusch. During the second half, Senior Tanner Chapple scored to make the score 2-0. The game ended with the Knights winning 2-0.
The boys are excited to see what else the season has in store for them and hope to continue their amazing season thus far.
